Hua Honored by APA and APAGS

Will Hua, doctoral student in the clinical health psychology program, was featured in the November 2010 issue of American Psychologist as the winner of the 2010 APA/APAGS Award for Distinguished Graduate Student in Professional Psychology. The citation reads as follows:

"For his outstanding work to reduce stigma and improve
wellness in marginalized communities living with HIV/
AIDS. William Q. Hua has been a tireless champion for
individuals experiencing barriers to care in diverse communities
throughout the world. As a graduate student, he researched
and provided individual and group treatment in a
variety of settings, including community-based organizations,
and volunteered in venues to assist children with
limited resources. As a concerned mental health care provider,
he has modeled the commitment necessary to bring
about change in health disparities experienced by minority
populations and communities of color and has been an exemplar
to his peers."
